Volunteers inside a new home in progress.
Women Build

Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program responsible for construction of over 800 new homes within the United States and they are now building in more than a dozen other countries. A Women Build home is made almost entirely from the prayers, resources and labor of women. This number continues to grow, especially through the success of the Lowe's Partnership, which invites women to address the problem of substandard housing and its effects on the health and well-being of children. Women crews are building 150-200 Habitat for Humanity homes a year and positively impacting the future by making homeownership a present reality for families.

The first Women Build at the Madison County affiliate was completed in 1999. In 2006, a group of 100 women - known as the Women Build Guild, came together with the goal to bring the Women Build back to Madison County. Each super-supporters has made her commitment to our mission through prayer support and a financial contribution of $500 for three years (for a total of $1,500). In 2007, they received enough funds to ensure that Lakeva and Tiana Hampton received a home. We will break ground on another Women Build in April of 2008.

Our goal? Construction of a Women Build home for one local family in the Spring of 2008. Partner with us, and make it happen!
